Little Johnny Jewel (Ork 1975)
The song that kicked off the group -- after the anticlimactic Neon Boys material -- and one of the signature songs of punk rock. It's undeniably a classic, but the studio recording of this guitar epic -- spread over both sides of a 7" -- pales in comparison to just about any live rendition. I choose the one on BLOW UP. These days you can buy "Little Johnny Jewel" on the deluxe edition of MARQUEE MOON, but I personally haven't gotten around to buying that yet so I can't say whether it sounds any better, the production on my copy of the single being impossibly ragged.
