BEST NEW THING

A balls-to-the-wall dance song from the pen (and sexy voice) of Janet Kieran, a #1 club hit (#11 on the pop charts), and one of the most fun Plaastik moments in recent memory. The three remixes presented on b-sides are a hoot: the "hot dance mix" actually takes out the dance beat and gives Janet's voice a creepy robot effect to create a track that's more frigtening than danceable. The "hip mix" is an extended version that adds a rap by Jay Kay Ray, while the "music mix" ups the intensity and adds live guitars and a string overdub. The rather overplayed video features epileptic flashing lights and a whole lot of people running.
