Jeff Jooce sings lead on this morbid, provocative rocker, which makes good, subtle use of electronics. On the Science Tour, of course, the role of the keyboards and samplers was expanded quite a bit, but it became a favorite of the rearrangements for many.
"Coffin" was the third single from ROSS VERDICT. By this point the album was a blockbuster -- still #1; the single reached #17, with "This is Not Here" still above it -- and the innovative computer animated video was placed in heavy rotation on MTV. Epic wanted the band to release a fourth single and nominated "Climb the Highest Mountain," but Plaastik wasn't interested.
