Thanks to the barely-significant length of their stint with CBS/Sony, Plaastik held off the release of their second compilation album until almost ten years after the first; the result was an excellent two-disc set that actually contained some unique non-LP material. Aside from the non-album hit "Two," the single versions of "You" and "Broaden" plus the 7" edits of "Morning" and "The Beauty," the consumer gets a brand new song, "At Our Finest," new recordings of "Where We Live," "The Sky is Drooling with Contempt," "Daddy's Little Girl," "Us," and a completely revamped "Mix." Throw in a pair of remixes -- "All the Circles" and "Breathe" -- and a whisper-quiet outtake of "Cloud" and you get more than your money's worth. Basically the compilation has the three singles from each of the seven albums during their Epic and MCA periods plus two selections from NOT UNPLUGGED. The only problem anyone seemed to have with MEAT was the inclusion of the bland Letterman take on "Hot Glass" from the "Chill Bumps" single. Anyway, it serves as a nice introduction for the uninitiated, though of course many fans argue that Plaastik's best work was in their first eight years, for DGC.
