The studio version of this jammed instrumental, with a melancholy tone and a beautiful piano line, is far different from the wild live versions, which feature all band members save Kevin Keys on guitar (no bass, only drums) and sometimes stretch to the half-hour mark. On the Playtime Tour, "Heavy Heart" was essentially used to punish the crowds who booed throughout Plaastik's increasingly difficult and oblique sets. Nothing resembling the ethereal studio version has been attempted on stage.
