LITTLE

performed on:
Written in early 2003 in Plaastik's practice space by Janet alone (her first solo composition on an album since "Best New Thing"), "Little" is "a blatant sex song" according to its composer, who hoped "at best" that it would turn out to be a b-side. In fact, fans loved the track, though a few of them found it more creepy than sexy. It features Janet nearly a cappella with soft percussion and brass, plus piano at the end. An electric version was played live in 2005 with a harmonica solo by Jay and (in one case) lead vocals by Nick.

just a little girl
just a little girl
doesn't understand
doesn't understand
what she wants
why she wants it

she doesn't know
why it feels good
don't be mad, daddy
don't be mad

just a little girl
just a little girl
open up to me
open up to me

you saw what I did
i wanted you to see
there are no innocents
there are no innocents
i'm just a little girl
