LOST

This urgent, emotional acoustic song is the last of the three recordings on CHILD that date from Tina's time with the band, but the only one of her mixes that survives, and therefore the only song completely in the can for CHILD by the time she left Plaastik. It was written by Tina with Janet contributing most of the lyrics (in return for the same favor Tina lent Janet on "Lust" some years prior) and the pair sharing lead vocals. Much to the band's delight, Tina agreed with Janet that it should remain an acoustic song. Not surprisingly, the result was embraced by fans.
The song has proven surprisingly flexible live; Jay has sung it at every performance thus far, with both soulful rock versions (the first played on Letterman in 2004) and an acoustic version; some shows have even added a harmonica solo, also by Jay.
LOST inside the bushes
LOST where I have to hide
LOST beyond your borders
LOST and along for the ride
LOST and shaken to the core
LOST in the back of your van
LOST miles away from home
LOST because I wanted a man
I wanted somebody
I paid the price
Nobody's mine
Nobody's yours
LOST far beneath the soil
LOST miles out to sea
LOST as I'll be forever
Like you and I thought we'd be
