LUST
performed on:- DIPLOMACY TOUR (1994)
- SCIENCE TOUR (2001)
- CHILD junket (2004-05)
For "Lust," Christina Singleton and Janet Kieran -- the composers -- decided to reverse the "Hey Jude" concept of a quiet song that gradually builds up by opening this track with a crushing wall of guitar and gradually removing elements until it is Tina alone on an acoustic guitar. The result is very effective, and tends to make the straightforward stage performances a bit of a letdown. Rumors persist that the lyrics published here were overdubbed and are radically different from the ones in the actual band performance.
Lust is what I see when I turn out the light
I don't know what you see
Lust is what I'm feeling right now
And that's enough for me
I can't meet your demands
I can't understand your needs
Lust in the dust, lust in the room
That's what you mean to me
Lust is what keeps me goin'
That's what it means to me
You can go but I'll stay
Because I need the action
