MORNING

Janet Kieran sings this reflective coda for the album by Nick Parker, which closes with the same sound effects that opened "Debbie Called." The long instrumental interlude on this features Jeff on piano along with a beautiful flugelhorn solo, joined eventually by another string overdub; toward the end, there's even a lengthy jazz bit with the band's old friend Quayle Dickson on tenor sax. Released as a single preserving only the vocal portions and a tiny slice of the instrumental break, this hit #24. An excellent video for the track has footage of the band on tour, looking melancholy.
I know how it's been
Obstacle again
but here I am
here you are
the morning's come
I'll cry tonight
I may cry for months
but we know
we'll win
the morning, it's here
I can't hide the hate
and I can't hide the love
and I can't run away from you
because I know
and we learn
let's ride together
let's live and love again
let's laugh
we won't forget
but the morning is here
and I'm still beside you
