SICK BUT KIND

performed on:

A truly boisterous -- some might say "obnoxious" -- hard rock/metal number that opens with, as Jeff said, "the loudest guitar in the history of mankind" and moves along with relentless force and spoken (screamed) vocals from Nick. On the Diplomacy Tour this was often a lengthy jam; they tried this approach in the studio and failed, so they decided on a more straightforward arrangement, which was repeated with the addition of electronics on the Science Tour a few years later.

The building just collapsed
All you could do was laugh
Then you gave me your telephone
To dial the emergency line

You're sick but kind
Yeah
Sick but kind

You wanna live in a death camp
You tell jokes about wops
You say you hate the pollocks
But you'll give me $11,000 if I ask

'Cause you're sick but kind
Yeah
Sick but kind

Donatin' to the homeless shelter
Then eatin' some animals alive
That's what it's about
Yeh yeh I wish I was you

You're friends with some homies
But you call 'em niggers
You're a man and a woman
And a superpower and a saint

You're sick but kind
Sick but kind
SICK BUT KIND
