A much more conventional rocker at the Diplomacy Tour shows than "Inside," this was slowed down to a dirge on CARTOONS and was roundly panned. In 1996 interviews promoting ON SUCH A NIGHT, Nick Parker had said "there were damn good reasons we didn't put 'So Bright' on the album; it was crap." Evidently he'd either changed his mind or decided there was nothing wrong with releasing crap. The song was greatly improved on the CHILD promo tour.
