WISDOM

performed on:
By far the quietest song on DINOSAUR DISTRIBUTION FIENDS, this supremely vindictive ballad is still infused with its share of wailing feedback, and the production is anything but clean. The band toyed with a fast version on the Information Tour, but Diplomacy shows found it only included in the acoustic set... though it was an almost nightly feature in that guise. A few of the lyrics at the end are from the long-lost early Plaastik song "And When the Seconds Feel Like Years."

you tell me I'm wrong
before I finish my sentence
I plastered the side of a skyscraper
and you demolished it

you've got your share of advice for us all
you're a fountain of youth
a peacemaker
a saint
if only we all had your infinite wisdom
the world might be a better place

you call the manager
about my conduct
you say one day I'll have to learn
the way life works

you say I'll feel differently someday
I'm not old enough to know
so much to learn
so much to learn
won't you let me in on your infinite wisdom?

through it all, you're still breathing
and sometimes I wonder why
sometimes I fall flat on my face
